The initial situation and drivers for change

According to a global survey commissioned by ABB, 91 percent of respondents expect a shortage of skilled workers over the next ten years. Almost half of the companies confirm that they have difficulties in finding new employees for construction jobs, that there is a need for action in the area of health and safety, and that specifications regarding sustainability and environmental protection as well as changes in processes and technologies are advancing. New technologies in automation, artificial intelligence, robotics, project management methods and, last but not least, the newly oriented digital expertise of young professionals, are filling this gap.
